This group comprises 16 Essex 15 mm figures on four stands. They are painted as 2nd Battalion of the Moravian Volunteers. A Grenzer unit in the Austrian army in 1809.

The Battle of Bassignano Sept 27, 1745

After a successful ruse of marching towards Piacenza to draw away the Austrians from there friends the Peidmontese near Bassignano; De Gages (Spanish) and Mallebois (French) do a surprise crossing of the Tanaro River. King Emmanual, thinking the Tanaro unfordable deploys his army on an extended front, some 6 miles, to cover the logical crossings. This scenario covers about 3 miles of that frontage. The ground between Bassignano held by the last of the Austrian contingent and the village of Riverane. Historically it was a smashing Franco/Spanish victory as the Soanish cavalry rode thru the Piedmontese cavalry opening the flanks up to envelop the two villages already named. The King was forced to withdraw his forces and regroup to protect further loss to his Kingdom. Opening deployments Piedmontese on the right and the Franco/Spanish on the left. French and Indian war frontier Project.

Back to the 18th century this week for a new project. This project has a variety of manufacturers. Each set of figures are for separate groups for a French and Indian war skirmish game. There will be 8 groups ranging in size from 3-8 figures each. A variety of manufacturers are used; Conquest, Old Glory, Front Rank among them. The Frontier project update. This group contains 25/28mm Front Rank figurines. More Families on the frontier. A couple of the castings remind of characters from the 1939 John Ford classic film Drums Along the Mohawk! Definitely a Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert likeness among them. Frontier project final edition. Here is the White family prepared to defend themselves from the 'Savages'. A war party burns its way thru the settlements.
